Basketball Recap: Tennessee Falls Despite Big Games from Jasmine Jones and Addie Wilhoit

Tennessee lost against Northview Academy back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Tennessee Vikings took a 53-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northview Academy Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Cougars are ranked 11th).

Despite the loss, Tennessee had strong showings from Addie Wilhoit, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 22 points, and Jasmine Jones, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and five steals. That's the most steals Jones has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerigan West, who earned six points.

Tennessee dropped their record down to 13-19 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points over those games. As for Northview Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-4 record this season.

Tennessee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northview Academy, they will challenge Jackson South Side on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Jackson South Side sitting on 22 straight wins and Northview Academy on four.
