Soccer Game Preview: The Vanguard School vs. St. Mary's

The Vanguard School will face off against the St. Mary's Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Vanguard School is coming into the matchup fresh off a high-scoring shootout with Banning Lewis Academy that saw the pair combine for 21 shots on goal. Neither the Coursers nor the Stallions could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked The Vanguard School's first draw of the season.

They hit Banning Lewis Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Elsy Calderon, Juliet Crowe, and Madison Baker.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's came up short against Front Range Christian on Saturday, falling 10-2. Things were pretty much settled by the half as St. Mary's were already down 7-0.

The Vanguard School's draw gives them a new season record of 4-4-1. As for St. Mary's, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4-1 record this season.
