Baseball Game Preview: James Lick Comets vs. Silver Creek Raiders

For the second straight game, James Lick will face off against Silver Creek. The Comets will be playing at home against the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. James Lick's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between James Lick and Silver Creek, and Silver Creek kept the tradition alive. The Comets came up short against the Raiders on Tuesday, falling 17-2.

For Silver Creek's part, they got a massive performance out of Cayleb Duran, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Duran is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Giovanni Mejia, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Silver Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as James Lick only posted a batting average of .333.

James Lick's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Silver Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. James Lick has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 10.5 stolen bases per game.
