Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant Oilers vs. Dow Chargers

Mt. Pleasant is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Dow is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Oilers will host the Chargers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Mt. Pleasant's win against Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Oilers had just enough and edged out the Wolves 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Oilers in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won seven in a row.

Mt. Pleasant saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brock Binder, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Binder has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Dow got the win against Heritage on Wednesday by a conclusive 12-2.

Mt. Pleasant's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Dow, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Mt. Pleasant was able to grind out a solid win over Dow in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 10-6. Will the Oilers repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
