Basketball Preview: Royal Palm Beach Wildcats vs. Leonard Lancers
Royal Palm Beach has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Leonard Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Wednesday, Royal Palm Beach was beaten by the Chargers 59-15. Royal Palm Beach has not had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Leonard's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 49-29 loss at the hands of Boynton Beach. While losing is never fun, Leonard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 510th, while the Tigers are ranked 153rd).
Royal Palm Beach has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Leonard, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-9.
Royal Palm Beach strolled past the Lancers in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 30-16. The rematch might be a little tougher for Royal Palm Beach since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
