Softball Recap: Fort Edward Flying Forts vs. Bolton Central Eagles
The Fort Edward Flying Forts were able to grind out a solid victory over the Bolton Central Eagles on Wednesday, taking the game 10-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Flying Forts.
Bradie Tyler made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off seven hits. Tyler was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Felicity Columbetti and Ollie Cutler did most of the damage at the plate: Columbetti scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Cutler scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Cutler a new career-high in RBI (three). Kyley Varney was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
Fort Edward's win bumped their record up to 2-0.
