Preview: Seven Lakes Spartans vs. Katy Tigers
Seven Lakes is 0-9 against Katy since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Seven Lakes Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Katy Tigers at 7:15 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Seven Lakes has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Katy will arrive with six straight wins.
Last Friday, Seven Lakes was the victim of a rough 35-11 loss at the hands of Paetow. That's two games in a row now that Seven Lakes has lost by exactly 24 points.
Meanwhile, Katy put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season last Thursday. They claimed a resounding 42-13 win over Cinco Ranch on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Katy just coasted through the last quarter.
Tremayne Hill was his usual excellent self, rushing for 170 yards and two touchdowns. Hill is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Chase Johnsey was in the mix as well, providing Katy with two touchdowns.
Seven Lakes' defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. As for Katy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Seven Lakes took a serious blow against Katy in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 59-0. Can Seven Lakes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
