Soccer Game Preview: Sunny Hills vs. Yorba Linda

The Sunny Hills Lancers will head out to challenge the Yorba Linda Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sunny Hills is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Sunny Hills' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Canyon 1-0. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lancers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Comanches are ranked 96th).

Meanwhile, Yorba Linda managed to keep up with El Dorado until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Yorba Linda came up short against El Dorado, falling 3-0. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Yorba Linda's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11-1. As for Sunny Hills, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6-3.

Sunny Hills took their win against Yorba Linda in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sunny Hills since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
