Basketball Recap: Carrollton Starts off Right with Win over Columbia

Carrollton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They secured a 61-55 W over the Columbia Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2020.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kendall Campbell, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Janise McCoy, who posted 14 points and four steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Columbia fell to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Carrollton will be playing in front of their home fans against Cartersville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbia, they will venture away from home to square off against Lovejoy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
