Volleyball Recap: West Memphis Christian Comes Up Short at Home Against Madison-Ridgeland Academy

West Memphis Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Black Knights of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2018.

West Memphis Christian was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-10, 25-22.

Keira Hariel was the offensive standout of the game as she had 16 assists and two aces. Hariel is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

The win keeps Madison-Ridgeland Academy at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, West Memphis Christian will host Memphis Home Education Association at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, they will face off against Ocean Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
