Recap: St. David Tigers vs. Duncan Wildkats
In what's become a running theme this season, the St. David Tigers gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 42-21 margin over Duncan. The victory was nothing new for St. David as they're now sitting on five straight.
Leading St. David to victory were Mayla Trejo and Gracey Crockett. Trejo scored 20 points along with three steals, while Crockett dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Trejo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Anissa Jacquez was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
St. David's victory bumped their record up to 25-2. As for Duncan, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-8.
St. David will be playing in front of their home fans against North Valley Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully St. David is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North Valley Christian Academy in Arizona (St. David is ranked 39th, while North Valley Christian Academy is ranked 242nd). As for Duncan, they and Salome will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Salome is coming into the match with nine straight wins at home, so Duncan is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
