Baseball Game Preview: West Park Panthers vs. Grant Pacers

The West Park Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Grant Pacers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. West Park is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

Grant will be up against a hot West Park team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. West Park never let Grant get on the board and left with a 28-0 win on Tuesday. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Preston Davis looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, West Park let Ayden Deome and Jace Oliver run wild. Deome went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three doubles, while Oliver went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one stolen base. The dominant performance gave Deome a new career-high in doubles. Caleb Peck was another key player, scoring four runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

West Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .755. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

West Park pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Grant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.
