Recap: Lugoff-Elgin Demons vs. North Myrtle Beach Chiefs
After flying high against the Aynor Blue Jackets on Wednesday, the Lugoff-Elgin Demons came back down to earth. Lugoff-Elgin fell 65-58 to North Myrtle Beach on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Wednesday (55), Lugoff-Elgin still had to take the loss.
Several Demons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nigel Chivers, who scored 13 points along with five assists and four steals. Chivers has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Long, who scored 11 points.
Lugoff-Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for North Myrtle Beach, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Lugoff-Elgin won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. James at 2:00 p.m. on December 22nd. St. James presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lugoff-Elgin in South Carolina (St. James is ranked 26th, while Lugoff-Elgin is ranked 91st). North Myrtle Beach won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Powdersville at 3:30 p.m. on December 22nd. One thing working in Powdersville's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
