Basketball Recap: Oakfield Comes Up Short

Oakfield extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-18. They were dealt a 90-31 defeat at the hands of the Lomira Lions. While losing is never fun, the Oaks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 441st, while the Lions are ranked 111th).

As for Lomira, their win bumped their record up to 14-5. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Josie Christian continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 26 points. Her big performance that evening made it 16 games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Lily Christian, who posted 18 points.

Oakfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-25 loss against Central Wisconsin Christian on the 6th. As for Lomira, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 67-32 victory against Mayville on the 5th.
