Baseball Game Preview: Titusville Terriers vs. Cocoa Tigers

Titusville is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Cocoa a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Titusville Terriers will be playing at home against the Cocoa Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Monday, Titusville came up short against Atlantic and fell 5-1.

Titusville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Lynskey, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Ryland Nicolaisen also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Cocoa's offense. They came up short against Space Coast on Friday, falling 17-0. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly 17 runs.

Titusville's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Cocoa, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Cocoa's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Titusville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Cocoa, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Titusville keep running through batters, or will Cocoa buck the trend?

Everything went Titusville's way against Cocoa in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Titusville made off with a 12-0 victory. Will Titusville repeat their success, or does Cocoa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
