Volleyball Recap: Newark's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Newark had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers by a score of 2-0. The Norsemen were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Panthers, so the Norsemen were just returning the favor.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-20.

Rylie Carlson paced Newark's offense, picking up ten kills. Carlson got some help from Taylor Jeffers and her 14 assists. Zoey Carlson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Newark's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Gardner-South Wilmington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Newark and Gardner-South Wilmington will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Norsemen will square off against rival Indian Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Gardner-South Wilmington is set to face off against their familiar foe Beecher at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
