Softball Game Preview: Newton Falls Tigers vs. Harding Raiders

The Newton Falls Tigers will challenge the Harding Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Newton Falls is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Southeast on Wednesday. They lost 16-2 to the Pirates.

Newton Falls saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madalyn Knight, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Harding was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Canfield, falling 20-2. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by exactly 18 runs.

Azarriah Phillips was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1. Jayda Hayes also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Newton Falls now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Harding, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
