Recap: Griffith Institute Griffins vs. Eden Raiders
The Griffith Institute Griffins were the 58-55 winner over the Eden Raiders when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The matchup between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Griffith Institute falling 57-42.
Eden's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taesyn Slating led the charge by scoring 23 points along with six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Slating has scored at least 25% of Eden's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Weyland, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Griffith Institute's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Eden, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Griffith Institute will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Iroquois at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Eden will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tapestry at 6:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Tapestry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while Eden is ranked 46th).
