Basketball Game Preview: Cayuga Wildcats vs. Oakwood Panthers + How To Watch

The Cayuga Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Oakwood Panthers at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cayuga is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.

On Tuesday, Cayuga came up short against Groesbeck and fell 54-44. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Cayuga saw an underclassman step up: freshman Levi Satterwhite almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Satterwhite's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Carter Jenkins was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Oakwood sidestepped Italy for a 50-47 win.

Cayuga's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Oakwood, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Everything came up roses for Cayuga against Oakwood when the teams last played back in December of 2020, as the team secured a 79-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
