Volleyball Recap: Rushford-Peterson Comes Up Short

If Rushford-Peterson was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Medford last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans came up short against the Caledonia Warriors on Tuesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Trojans have suffered against the Warriors since October 10, 2019.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-20, 25-20.

Rushford-Peterson's offense was headlined by Torryn Schneider and Ava Helgemoe, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Kayla Magin and her seven assists.

Rushford-Peterson's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Caledonia, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Rushford-Peterson will face off against rival Lewiston-Altura at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Caledonia is set to take on their familiar foe St. Charles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
