Recap: Cook Hornets vs. Rockmart Yellowjackets
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Cook Hornets can now relate to. They took a 34-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellowjackets on Friday. Cook's defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Cook had strong showings from Ny'shaun Wallace, who picked up 120 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Keshun Mckever, who rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rockmart to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brent Washington, who rushed for 51 yards and three touchdowns. Jd Davis and his 110 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Rockmart's win.
Cook's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Rockmart, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home.
Cook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rockmart will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pierce County at 1:00 p.m. on December 12th. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Pierce County: 7.9, Rockmart: 12.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
