Football Recap: Sierra Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After soaring to 55 points the game before, Sierra was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were outmatched by the Lathrop Spartans and fell 42-3. The Timberwolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-3.

Jaysen Martinez threw for 74 yards on seven of 18 attempts. Anthony Chapman was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards. On the ground, Darien East rushed for 47 yards.

Treydon Santos had an outrageously good game for Lathrop as he rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Santos also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Sierra's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lathrop, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sierra will face off against Modesto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lathrop, they will challenge Patterson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
