Basketball Recap: Robstown Comes Up Short

Robstown had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-13 to make it four. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Karnes City Badgers an easy 53-32 victory. The Cottonpickers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Badgers from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

As for Karnes City, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points over those games.

Karnes City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Fuentes, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Savion Nixon-Thompson, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Robstown will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sinton at 2:30 p.m. on January 2, 2026. As for Karnes City, they will be taking part in a tournament against Gonzales at 9:45 a.m. on the 29th.
