Baseball Recap: Sports Leadership & Management Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sports Leadership & Management had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights. This was a revenge game for the Bulls: when they faced off against the Knights back in April, they had to take a 1-0 defeat.

Audric Gregorio was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Sports Leadership & Management: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 10-17 otherwise. Gregorio was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alex Garcia, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Sports Leadership & Management is undefeated when Garcia posts two or more stolen bases, but 9-18 otherwise.

Sports Leadership & Management's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-18. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season.

Sports Leadership & Management will challenge Moapa Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Bulls surely won't give up without a fight. Mater Academy East Las Vegas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
