Basketball Recap: Notre Dame-Green Pond Skates Past Palisades with Ease

Notre Dame-Green Pond had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging an 81-40 win over the Palisades Pirates. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Palisades lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Blake Oglialoro, who went 8 of 12 en route to 19 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Cook, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 17 points.

Notre Dame-Green Pond's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Palisades, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Coincidentally, Notre Dame-Green Pond and Palisades will both be playing Catasauqua the next time they take the court. Notre Dame-Green Pond will head out to face Catasauqua at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while Palisades will host them at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
