Danbury had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Thorndale Bulldogs 11-4 on Saturday. Considering the Panthers have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Danbury is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Thorndale, their loss dropped their record down to 18-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bulldogs beat Danbury by a score of 2-0 later that day.
