Basketball Game Preview: Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons vs. Red Cloud Warriors

The Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Red Cloud Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Wilcox-Hildreth has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Red Cloud will arrive with three straight wins.

Wilcox-Hildreth is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Shelton on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Falcons took a blow against the Bulldogs, falling 50-13. The Falcons were down 36-6 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Cheyenne Lieb and Chloe Johnson, who each put up five points.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Red Cloud against Sumner-Eddyville-Miller on Saturday as the squad secured a 51-10 victory. With the Warriors ahead 30-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Wilcox-Hildreth better focus on containing Aiva Rust and Josie Faimon as the pair were huge in Red Cloud's win. Rust posted 20 points, while Faimon had 16 points.

Wilcox-Hildreth's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Red Cloud, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Wilcox-Hildreth beat Red Cloud 42-32 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
