Southview Christian has no trouble against Shining Light Baptist Academy

The Southview Christian Conquerors had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-25 win over Shining Light Baptist Academy. Given Southview Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Shining Light Baptist Academy is ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Shining Light Baptist Academy still got an impressive performance from Rebekah Henegar, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Henegar scored a full 52% of Shining Light Baptist Academy's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Southview Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Shining Light Baptist Academy, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southview Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Calvary Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Calvary Christian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Shining Light Baptist Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rockwell Christian School at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
