Baseball Recap: Central Woodstock Takes a Loss

Central Woodstock was the 10-1 winner over Page County when they last played one another on April 2nd, but their luck changed this time around. The Falcons fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. Falcons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Panthers since on Tuesday.

Isaac Barb was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Central Woodstock saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Moss, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Central Woodstock has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Page County, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11.
