Baseball Recap: Episcopal Academy Starts off Right with Win over Devon Prep

Episcopal Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Devon Prep Tide a 4-0 shutout. This was payback for the Churchmen, who suffered a 12-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Roman Notaro looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Spencer Schuh was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Devon Prep is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Episcopal Academy will host Penncrest at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Devon Prep, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on Shipley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
