Volleyball Recap: Baraboo Thunderbirds vs. Janesville Craig Cougars
Baraboo kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Janesville Craig Cougars by a score of 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Thunderbirds in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost eight in a row.
Baraboo's offense was headlined by Makennah Peterson and Sabrina Hartmann, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Presley Zimmerman and her 17 assists. Emma Pichler controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Janesville Craig to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chloe Adams, who had three digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Sophie Hanna, who had nine digs and five kills.
Baraboo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Tomah on the 29th. As for Janesville Craig, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Verona on the 29th.
