Basketball Recap: Sale Creek Comes Up Short

Sale Creek easily dispatched Varsity Opponent last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Sale Creek Panthers fell just short of the Berean Academy Eagles by a score of 57-55 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 67-64 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Daniel Wigginton was his usual excellent self, going 5 for 12 on his way to 22 points along with five boards and four steals for Berean Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wigginton has scored at least a third of Berean Academy's points. Ryan Stansifer was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 14 points.

Sale Creek now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Berean Academy, their record is now 12-3.

Sale Creek has already played their next contest (against Van Buren County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Berean Academy will look to defend their home court on February 7th against Cedar View Christian at 7:30 p.m.
