Recap: Washington Tigers vs. Northwest Indians
There's no place like home for the Washington Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 54-47 win over Northwest on Monday. Given Washington's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Northwest is ranked 533rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Washington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but La Nia Moore led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Moore is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Talia Russell, who scored 12 points.
Washington pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Northwest, they have fallen quite a ways from their 27-3 record last season and are now at 3-11.
Washington will be playing at home against Firestone at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Northwest, they will head out on the road to face off against Triway at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
