Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Cannon County). They put the hurt on the Smith County Owls with a sharp  15-5 win on Wednesday. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
The team  relied heavily on  August Morris, who  fired off three  triples, four  runs,  and five  RBI while going 3-for-3. Those  three  hits gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Kennedi Clark, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run.
 Cannon County  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .621. They are  a perfect 3-0 when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Cannon County's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Smith County, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8-1 record  this season.
 Cannon County will look to defend their home field  on Saturday against Grundy County  at 5:00  p.m. Smith County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
