Baseball Recap: Dixie County Comes Up Short

Dixie County and Williston squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Dixie County had to settle for second. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mighty Red Devils. Having soared to a lofty 25 runs in the game before, the Bears couldn't push the score so high this time.

Gray Wampler made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Dixie County is 6-3 when Wampler posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-8 otherwise.

Dixie County's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Williston, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-9 record this season.
