Football Recap: Tuscaloosa Academy Falls Short of Reeltown in the Playoffs

Tuscaloosa Academy and Reeltown squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Tuscaloosa Academy had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Reeltown Rebels 49-13. The match marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Although Tuscaloosa Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Taylor Thompson and Kena Rego.

A big part of Reeltown's victory came down to the chemistry between Jamarkius Smith and his top target Tae Martin. Smith threw for 179 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes while Martin gained 146 total yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Alijah Woods, who rushed for 66 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.

The defeat snapped Tuscaloosa Academy's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 12-3 record. As for Reeltown, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.
