Baseball Recap: Anahuac Comes Up Short

Anahuac lost against Tarkington back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Anahuac Panthers lost 9-3 to the Tarkington Longhorns.

Anahuac saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blaedin Josephson, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Josephson also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Another was Blake Majors, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Anahuac has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. Tarkington's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-10-1.

Anahuac and Tarkington could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Anahuac (ranked 698th) will meet Silsbee (ranked 123rd) at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Tarkington will challenge Buna at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday down 407 places (803 vs. 396).
