Baseball Recap: Cuyahoga Falls Takes a Loss

Cuyahoga Falls came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Roosevelt Rough Riders, falling 11-5. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 11, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Cuyahoga Falls saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Purchase, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another was Braylon Davis, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Cuyahoga Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Roosevelt, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Cuyahoga Falls and Roosevelt could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Black Tigers (ranked 499th) will meet St. Vincent-St. Mary (ranked 143rd) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Roosevelt will take on Field at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (293 vs. 84).
