Baseball Game Preview: Delsea Crusaders vs. Triton Mustangs

For the second straight game, Delsea will face off against Triton. The Crusaders will face off against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Delsea will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Delsea lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Triton, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The Crusaders put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 12-2 victory on Tuesday. With that win, the Crusaders brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Delsea got a great performance from Conner Harrison as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nathan Jackson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Pierce Delaney also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Delsea hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.

Triton has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Delsea, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
