Softball Game Preview: Orrville Red Riders vs. Triway Titans

Orrville is 0-8 against Triway since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Red Riders will head out on the road to take on the Titans at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Orrville can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to Fairless. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 14 in a row.

Meanwhile, Triway came up short against Northwestern on Friday and fell 12-8. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ashley Braunscheidel and Jesse Starr stepped up to the plate in a big way. Braunscheidel scored a run while going 2-for-2, while Starr scored a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Myah Lester, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Orrville suffered a grim 22-0 defeat to Triway in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Red Riders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
