Baseball Recap: Lancaster County Christian Lions vs. West Shore Christian Academy
Lancaster County Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against West Shore Christian Academy on Friday as the Lancaster County Christian Lions made off with a 22-12 victory. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
Joey Lapp was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Lapp was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Sheldon Fisher and Josh Aiken did most of the damage at the plate: Fisher went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and a triple, while Aiken scored five runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Landon Eby was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
West Shore Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Lancaster County Christian will square off against Christian School of York at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian School of York and Lancaster County Christian are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for West Shore Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount Calvary Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
