Basketball Recap: Barron Collier Picks Up 18th Straight Win at Home

Barron Collier extended their home winning streak to 18 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Spencer Clayton. The Barron Collier Cougars took down the Gulf Coast Sharks 65-46 on Thursday thanks in part to Clayton, who posted 33 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Those 33 points gave him a new career-high.

Barron Collier's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Gulf Coast, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

Barron Collier and Gulf Coast should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Barron Collier will take on Golden Gate at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 271 places (152 vs. 423). Barron Collier is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.4 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Gulf Coast (ranked 316th) will meet Mariner (ranked 711th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
