Basketball Recap: Julian Barton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Booker over Sweetwater

Booker was the 54-51 winner over Sweetwater when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Booker Kiowas fell 57-48 to the Sweetwater Bulldogs on Thursday.

Booker's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julian Barton, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 20 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Reydn Rosales, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Booker has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Sweetwater, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Booker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-46 win against Beaver on the 13th. As for Sweetwater, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-43 victory against Southwestern Heights on the 14th.
