Baseball Game Preview: Plainview Hornets vs. Starks Panthers

The Plainview Hornets will challenge the Starks Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Plainview will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Eight must be Plainview's lucky number: they beat St. Joseph's - Plaucheville with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Hornets beat the Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-2. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Starks fell victim to Grand Lake and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Hornets, falling 15-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Plainview's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Starks, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-10.

Plainview got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Starks by a conclusive 21-3 score. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
