Baseball Recap: Cretin-Derham Hall's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

Cretin-Derham Hall dropped their record down to 15-5-1 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Stillwater Ponies, falling 14-2. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Stillwater, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

For Stillwater's part, Dylan Bloom spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. Bloom has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, AJ Levy was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Riley Runk, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cretin-Derham Hall will venture away from home to square off against St. Thomas Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stillwater, they will challenge Blaine at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
