Preview: Magdalena Steers vs. Reserve Mountaineers
Magdalena is 10-0 against Reserve since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Magdalena Steers will be playing at home against the Reserve Mountaineers at 6:30 p.m. Magdalena will be looking to keep their 25-game home win streak alive.
In what's become a running theme this season, Magdalena gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Capitan 62-21 on the road. With Magdalena ahead 37-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Joseph Zamora continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with five rebounds and five steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Jeffrey Stuteville was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Reserve's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 51-39 to Hatch Valley.
Magdalena's victory bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Reserve, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Magdalena against Reserve in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 69-10 victory. Does Magdalena have another victory up their sleeve, or will Reserve turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
