Softball Recap: Central Wise Finds Playoff Glory Versus Marion

It's playoff time, and Central Wise had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Marion Scarlet Hurricanes on Thursday as they made off with a 16-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Kaelyn Dales was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Central Wise got a massive performance out of Sophie Carter, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Carter has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maci Gibson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Central Wise's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Marion, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Central Wise nor Marion have any future games scheduled.
