Haley Inman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma Carpenter, who went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Angel Walker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Bethel Christian Academy rose to the challenge on Thursday. They skirted past the Titans 5-4.
Like Oak Level Baptist Academy, Bethel Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Suzanne Rouse. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Rouse was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Avery Cash was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
Oak Level Baptist Academy pushed their record up to 13-2-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bethel Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Oak Level Baptist Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bethel Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Oak Level Baptist Academy skirted past Bethel Christian Academy 6-5 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Do the Conquerors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
