Baseball Recap: South Grand Prairie Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

While South Grand Prairie's win against Bowie wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Volunteers 1-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Michael Maggart looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Daylon Brooks, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one double.

South Grand Prairie pushed their record up to 17-7-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Bowie, their record is now 22-10.

South Grand Prairie will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Volunteers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
