Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pisgah). They came out on top against the Smoky Mountain Mustangs by a score of 87-76 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Pisgah's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dominick Messer, who went 6 of 12 en route to 24 points and four steals. Messer is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kenyon Moore, who went 10 of 16 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds.

Smoky Mountain's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Custer Prenger, who went 10 of 21 on his way to 25 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ace Prenger, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten assists.

The win made it two in a row for Pisgah and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Smoky Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Pisgah will look to defend their home court on Thursday against North Buncombe at 8:30 p.m. As for Smoky Mountain, they will head out to square off against Enka at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
